Howie & Bowie – a poem

Posted by hector On October - 27 - 2009

Howie and Bowie went into the room of three

But as they were only two how could they accepted be?

Now Howie did suggest

Before the maitre d’ could call for their arrest

O d’, come on, giz a break

We only want something dry with a bit of a shake

And just as the d’ was about to retort

Humf oof argh and snort

Did Bowie add with much style and grace

Or we’ll have to smash your fucking face

Hints of perspiration were then said to appear on the old man’s skin

To flakes of snow padding a tender street akin

And with a sigh of relief

Did he express his sudden belief

That the occasion, unusual as it may be

Had forced him to see

The relativity of the matter at hand

For in his presence they did indeed form of three a band

So please, this way kind sir

And I regret I’m fresh out of myrrh

To suitably end this little fable

But naturally you may pick any table.

Grey Weather

Posted by hector On October - 24 - 2009

The weather is kind of drab and drizzle, and there’s a guy selling figs outside my window in a mating call mantra voice. Chrome-grey turrets are climbing into the skyline and there’s a cup with a chipped tooth in my sink. All this means that there’s a tropical November lumbering over like some half-deaf bassoon player, and the guy with the figs just reminds you that commerce and a loud voice go together, which is why McDonald’s has paid for right to stick its name all over the steep steps out of the London underground.

Hello and Welcome

Dear stranger, greetings and salutations.

You are now reading the first blog entry to this, my first website, which means that, put in context, this is already pretty exciting.

My name is Hector Apostolopoulos, a surname with five oh’s and one ah, where it counts.

What you’ll find here is random rants, weekly comic strips, sketches and scribbles, borrowed pictures and lifted references, and a whole host of things that will just happen on their own, as they always do, and about which I have absolutely no prior knowledge.

Here’s looking at you. Hope you have a moderately enjoyable time.
